As a junior sustainability consultant in the cities team, Pieter grounds his work in extensive research and data analysis, approaching challenges from a socio-economic, engineering, and environmental perspective.
After experiencing the consequences of pollution firsthand during summer school and volunteering experiences in Ghana and Malaysia, Pieter decided to devote his career to the transition to a restorative economy. In his work he identifies leverage points and translates them into actionable strategies from a systems perspective.
Pieter has a bachelor’s degree in Built Environment and wrote his thesis on the implementation of a closed-loop supply chain in the Metropolitan Region of Amsterdam. He is currently enrolled in a master’s program in Industrial Ecology (Leiden University & TU Delft) with plans to specialize in data science and analytical tools that enhance his activities at Metabolic.
