Peter joined Metabolic to use his skills as a front-end developer to help people make more sustainable choices. Working on the Systemic team on tools like ChemDSS, he also supports Metabolic in various initiatives, such as a new tool that makes it easier to create our material flow diagrams. Peter studied Interaction Design at HKU, where he learnt how to combine design, art and technology. During this time he created physical interactive installations to demonstrate sustainability related concepts, such as the tragedy of the commons, and resilience.
Peter has had a long involvement with Fablab Amersfoort, where he makes digital fabrication more accessible. He is a contributor to the design-focused Linux distro: elementary OS. He also frequents repair cafes where he helps people fix their electronics, hoping to inspire them to repair more. Peter is also a member of a food collective, making food from local organic farmers more accessible.
