Mhairi is Metabolic’s Director of Operations and General Counsel, leading all operational and legal aspects at Metabolic. Mhairi joined Metabolic in 2019 from the British Museum in London, a global cultural institution and conservation science and research centre, where she spent 10 years as Senior Legal Counsel advising at executive management and board level across all operational, legal and commercial aspects of the business.
Mhairi is a qualified lawyer with particular expertise in employment law and human resources, business management, intellectual property, mediation and dispute resolution, court litigation, contract law and negotiation, and human rights and equality. Prior to the British Museum, Mhairi was a global lawyer in the City of London for international law firm Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, providing legal operational and strategic business advice across a variety of economic sectors, from national governments, global industry-leading multinationals and NGOs, to academic institutions and not for profit organisations. Mhairi also acts as Chief Operating Officer to HydraGreen London, a start-up sustainability company innovating hydrokinetic energy systems for communities across Africa and South America.
Mhairi is a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales.
