Martin has a diverse background, with roots in Ecuador and Germany. He has a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science (University of Amsterdam) and a master’s degree in Energy Science (Utrecht University). His thesis research involved using data analysis methods to investigate the different factors that play a role in energy efficiency during plastics injection molding processes. During this time, he worked for a company involved in developing an intelligent energy monitoring system using real-time big data. Martin developed a passion for sustainability – especially the energy transition – and enjoys solving and structuring datasets into clear and concise models that can be used to accelerate this transition. At Metabolic, Martin is a sustainability consultant in the industries and cities teams, where he hopes to use his data expertise to guide the world towards a more sustainable future.
