Francesco is Senior Project Manager at Metabolic Institute. He coordinates diverse projects aimed at promoting sustainable transformations in the rural and urban environments, at developing innovative bio-based value chains, and at studying the environmental and socio-economic dynamics behind these processes.

Francesco developed deep interest toward sustainability and bioeconomy by both studying these disciplines during his education and by realizing that transitioning our society to a fundamentally sustainable state is the only way ahead to ensure harmonization between human well-being and our Planet. He built an educational trajectory in the field of bioeconomy since both his BSc at the University of Bologna, Italy, and his MSc at Wageningen University, The Netherlands.

Before joining Metabolic Institute, he has been part for seven years of the Bio-based economy group of Wageningen University, where he obtained his PhD degree and worked as post-doctoral researcher, studying ways to make agro-food systems fully integrated in a circular and bio-based economy.

At Metabolic Institute, Francesco brings his expertise to build and manage innovative projects to further tackle preeminent socio-economic and environmental issues. In parallel, he is also involved in political activities where he tries to further push for transitioning our economic models to a sustainable states.
