As the HR and Operations Manager at Metabolic, Ekata strives to create a smooth working experience and support the close-knit team of Metabolic. Her aim is to bring mission-aligned people into the team, people who are equally motivated to contribute to a more sustainable world, enabling them to achieve personal and professional goals, while solving wicked problems and building a better tomorrow.
Born and raised in Guwahati, Ekata grew up in a serene river valley in the north-eastern state of India called Assam. Having spent time in Yorkshire and studying in the US while growing up, she was naturally exposed to a lot of cultures from the East and the West. These experiences left a big impression on her, and made her want to learn more about the differences between people, societies and cultures.
At the age of 18, with the help of a merit scholarship, she had the opportunity to move halfway across the world to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in the Netherlands. While completing her studies in Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in the Social Sciences at Tilburg University, she discovered her love of building relationships and people-centric, dynamic environments where collaboration, teamwork and creativity are highly valued. She then pursued a Master’s in Human Resource Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University.
